Bootloader Unlocking via the Easiest Way ! ! !

Ok viewers i have come across many people who want to unlock their bootloader but find it very difficult to do it. There are 2 ways in which a user can unlock bootloader :

1. Unofficial way :- This requires using of a wire and a pin to unlock bootloader using testpoint method. This method preserves the DRM files, but a slip of hand can cause the phone to brick(not able to boot). That is why I dont recommend that.
2.Official way:- Official way is easy, you have to do some manual work which requires using cmd(command prompt) etc. However you lose your DRM files in this method and you cannot update your cell OTA(over the air) or via PCC.
I am going to show you an easy way to unlockbootloader without even having to visit sony website. The developers at xda (quangnhut123) have done a wonderfull job of making a small 4.63mb software which does everything for you from just a click of button

[Warning : This tool will automatically get unlock code and unlock your phone before you flash custom kernel to root and install CWM. If you want to update firmware by SEUS, PC Companion or Update Manager in your phone(OTA). Please relock bootloader]

Features:
- Automatically get the unlock code from Sony Ericsson website within 10 seconds after entering the IMEI code.
- Automatically fully unlock the bootloader without the need of any command line.
- Support flashing .IMG boot file, .SIN kernel to change the kernel to install CWM or root the phone with the corresponding IMG file.
- Support flashing .FTF file with Flashtool core libs
- Support Relock Bootloader

Steps :
- From your phone dial pad, press *#06# to get the IMEI code.
- Open the program. Enter the 14-digit IMEI code into the first text box.
- Press the Get Unlock Code button. You will see your unlock code in the Unlock Code box.
- Turn off the phone and hold MENU(button to the right of Home) and connect the USB cable to the computer. If the LED light turn blue that means the phone is now on Fastboot mode.
- The computer will automatically install the driver. If the driver can't be recognized, please install the following tool : http://www.mediafire.com/?b6lc32yaq2zo77n .
When installing, remember to choose drivers for fastboot and Flashmode! Just hit Install Anyway if Windows ask you to install the drivers!
- After finishing the installation, click the Unlock BL button. The program will automatically unlock your bootloader!
- If you want to flash any custom kernel to install CWM or root your phone, double click on third text box and select your .IMG or .SIN file. Click Flash to flash the custom kernel.
- If you want to relock bootloader, click Flash Modeand then check Relock BL , double click on third text box and select your .FTF file. Turn off the phone and hold Volume Down and connect the USB cable to the computer. If the

LED light turn green that means the phone is now on Flash mode. . Click Flash to flash your FTF relock file.
- If you want to flash .FTF file do as above but uncheck Relock BL. We have on more Option is Wipe Data / Cache use to Factory reset when flash new firmware ! If you only need to repair your phone please don't check Wipe Data /Cache.

Unlocking Bootloader on Xperia phones for loading custom ROM's

Warning: Unlocking your phone’s bootloader voids its warranty.  You can also  flash certain custom ROM's without  unlocking Bootloader.

Note : Check http://sonyxperianeov.blogspot.in/2012/08/a-guide-to-install-cm9-rom-for-your.html for steps to flash CM9 ROM on Xperia Neo V

What is a bootloader?

The bootloader is a code that is executed before any Operating System starts to run. Every Android phone has a bootloader that instructs the operating system kernel to boot normally.

Why is Bootloader Locked ?

A bootloader is usually locked on an Android device because although it’s an open source OS, still the manufacturers want you to stick to their Android OS version specifically designed for the device. In order to apply this concept, manufacturers lock the bootloader. With a locked bootloader on Android devices, it is virtually impossible to flash a Custom ROM and forced attempts void warranty as well as usually end up in bricks. Therefore, the first step is to always unlock the bootloader.

Before unlocking bootloader let me show you how to check the bootloader unlocking permissions of Xperia phones
Step 1: Open the dial pad of your phone and type *#*#SERVICE#*#* or *#*#7378423#*#*
It will show you the Service menu

Click on Service info and then click on configuration on next page, you will find the 'Rooting Status' as Yes. If it is yes, bootloader unlocking is allowed on your phone.

Methods available if the answer is Yes:

Method 1: http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com
Method 2a: SE tool 2
Method 2 b: S1 tool(if available for your device)http://androidflip.com/unlock-xperia-phones-bootloader-without-losing-drm-dat...
